Notes from Friends of Fantômas

David Chute writes: There's a good chance that you'd enjoy a recent book by Arturo Perez-Reverte, The Club Dumas, a thriller about European book collectors that gets into the work of congenial-sounding scribes like Ponson du Terrail, creator of the serial anti-hero Rocambole. As far as I know, none of his work has ever been translated into English, although several Spanish editions popped up when I ran a web search. Gustave LeRouge (War of the Vampires) and Jean Redon (Eyes Without a Face) also seem to be untranslated to this day. Obviously there's a lot of fun ahead for us exploring this uncharted territory.

Thanks to David for the suggestion of additional Fantômas-related literature. If any Friends know of other Fantômas-related sites or books, please let us know, and we'll post them.
